Chevra Simchas Shabbos V'yom Tov

Initiated by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, C.S.S.Y. has been serving the Crown Heights community for over 36 years. This website honors the memory of our beloved founders, Shimshon and Martha Stock obm, who with great devotion opened their home to the needy on a daily basis and dedicated their lives to bringing joy and assistance to hundreds of families in Crown Heights. C.S.S.Y. continues the legacy of Shimshon and Martha Stock, discreetly providing funds, food and support 365 days a year.

Throughout the year, C.S.S.Y. lovingly assists impoverished Crown Heights Jews on a daily basis, custom-tailoring the help to the needs of each family or individual. C.S.S.Y.’s main programs include: 

• WEEKLY FOOD VOUCHER PROGRAM – Distribution of vouchers for the purchase of food for Shabbos, redeemable at local stores. Total cost: Approx. $20,000 per month
• YOM TOV FUNDS PROGRAM – Giving money for Yom Tov needs before the Tishrei and Pesach holidays. Total cost: Approx. $175,000 per holiday
• ORPHANS’ FUNDS PROGRAM – Providing funds for room and board, clothing, school supplies and a bit of pocket money for indigent orphan children who have no other means of support
• HOME EMERGENCY FUNDS PROGRAM – Rescuing families from electrical and gas shutoffs by paying their delinquent bills
• MEDICAL CRISIS PROGRAM – Covering the cost of medicine and, at times, paying bills for doctors and procedures, for indigent Jews in crisis
• WEDDING FUNDS PROGRAM – Helping plan and fund modest but dignified weddings for needy brides and grooms whose parents cannot assist
• FUNERAL FUNDS PROGRAM – Providing Jewish burial for the indigent
